What is foot mobilisation and manipulation?
It is a form of physical therapy which is commonly used by Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Osteopaths to help correct foot posture by freeing up restrictions and improving bone alignment. This is achieved by gentle and precise pressures applied to the feet in a controlled manner.
Why is it needed?
The philosophical basis behind foot mobilisation and manipulation is that ‘everything works best when it’s in the right position’ and the body is innately always trying to repair and restore itself. Therefore your feet being correctly aligned helps the body help itself more effectively.
Does it hurt?
There is minimal if any discomfort felt while the techniques are being performed. The idea is to make small changes on a consistent and gradual basis rather then attempt to make large changes that could result in further discomfort or injury.
